Celebrity Secrets

Everyday we see celebrities on television, in magazines and while surfing the internet that are in such perfect shape. Are they naturally blessed with a perfect physique or are they all hiding some kind of secret?  Thanks to Carin for giving us the dose of reality we all need from time to time, read below to find out how you too can maintain the same svelte shape.

Do you know what most celebrities claim to be their secret to keeping weight off during the holidays? Exercise harder! It is imperative to think of your body as a checkbook. Much in the same way you manage your finances you have to keep your body balanced. “Calories in versus calories out” is a simple way to manage your weight much in the same way you manage your checkbook. Only in this case, you want to spend more then you put in.

You cannot expect to consume extra calories on most days, not exercise and still lose weight, or even maintain your weight. I have always told my clients the difference between overweight people and healthy people is work ethic. People who maintain a healthy weight are very rarely perfect. They fall off the diet wagon and indulge themselves from time to time. The difference is, healthy/slim people make up for their indulgences. Someone who maintains a healthy weight will not get discouraged and give up exercising if they ruin their diet for one night and eat pizza. On the contrary, the healthy person will wake up the next day and hit the gym harder then normal in order to work off that pizza.

At the end of the week, we have to burn more calories then we consume in order to lose weight. Period. So the next time you have that margarita after a long day- think about how much exercise you need to complete in order to burn those calories off. One margarita can easily contain 325 calories. The average person would have to run at a pace of 5mph for 36 minutes in order to burn off 325 calories. Still want that margarita? If the answer is yes, make sure you have good running shoes.
